The Thunderbolts failed to grab the first win of the season on Homecoming night this past Friday. While the team surely feels the sting of the loss, there were some solid moments that they can take forward as they chase that first win of the season. Including a drive in the 4th quarter that culminated in a 1-yard rushing touchdown by Quinten Churchman with 6 minutes left to play.

Springboro proved themselves to be a tough opponent throughout the contest. Panthers Quarterback Max Miller had his best performance of the season, with 223 yards passing and 3 touchdowns with no turnovers. Running back Mattias Brunicardi also heavily contributed to the Panthers attack with 132 yards on the ground, 5.2 yards per carry, as well as 2 touchdowns on the evening.

Northmont generated 142 yards of total offense, 8 first downs, and a 22% conversion rate on 3rd down. In what was a difficult night for the team, they displayed promising flashes late in the game. In a 4th quarter drive, quarterback Bryce Staggs showed some poise and accuracy as he delivered multiple strikes to his receivers. Which helped move the Bolts down the field where running back Quinten Churchman was able to punch it in for a score.

The Thunderbolts will look to get their first win next Friday the 26th at Wayne. Their next home game at Premier Health Stadium will be on October 10th against Centerville.

Massive thank you to the Northmont fans who showed out on Friday. In what has been a difficult season, your support has meant the world to us. You celebrated that touchdown like a win and we truly appreciate the energy you bring to our events. Go Bolts!
