Last week, all 52 Northmont High School cheerleaders traveled to Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, Ohio, for UCA Cheer Camp. Throughout the week, the program focused on building stronger cheerleading skills, learning new material, challenging themselves, and creating community across the Freshman, JV, and Varsity squads.

Northmont had an impressive week of individual recognition as well. Twelve cheerleaders earned UCA All-American honors, two cheerleaders advanced to the finals of the Jump Off competition, and seven cheerleaders were selected for UCA’s Pin It Forward Program, which recognizes athletes who demonstrate leadership, positivity, and encouragement.

The program also found success in the camp competitions on the final day. In the JV and Below Division, the Freshman squad earned fourth place in the Camp Routine and third place in the Cheer. In the Large Varsity Division, the Varsity squad took third place in the Camp Routine, third place in the Cheer, and first place in the Sideline competition.

Perhaps most importantly, Northmont Cheer was recognized as a program for the qualities it demonstrated throughout the week. The Bolts earned the UCA Leadership Award, chosen by the other campers as the team they would want to be a part of, and received the prestigious honor of taking home the Banana—a coveted camp tradition and recognition of a team that brings exceptional energy, spirit, leadership, and positivity.

Congratulations to all 52 Northmont cheerleaders on an incredible week at UCA Camp! The program returns home with new skills, stronger connections, unforgettable memories, and plenty of momentum heading into the fall season.
