Northmont Golf Tryout Information Sheet
2026-2027 Season

Welcome to Northmont Boys Golf! This document is intended to help athletes and families prepare for tryouts. Please read through the information carefully so that everyone understands the expectations and requirements before arriving.

Tryout Schedule
Each golfer will play one 18-hole round on each of the following dates:
Friday, July 24 – 11:00 AM
Monday, July 27 – 9:00 AM
Tuesday, July 28 – 11:00 AM
Following the completion of the final round on July 28, athletes will:
*Be informed whether they have made the team.
*Receive their team placement
*Receive uniforms if selected for the team.

Prior to Tryouts
*Physical Exam
--All athletes must have a current sports physical on file before participating in tryouts. This is an OHSAA requirement for all sports.
*Final Forms
--Please complete all required paperwork in FinalForms before tryouts begin. However, do not pay the participation fee until your athlete has officially made the team.
*Green Fees
--Each 18-hole tryout round requires payment of the course's green fee unless the golfer already has a membership. Please do not purchase a junior membership before tryouts.
*Junior Memebership
--Golfers who make the team will need a Meadowbrook Junior Membership for the season. The membership allows players to practice and play at Meadowbrook without paying green fees each day.
Current cost: $450 (additional fees may apply when paying with a credit card)

Tryout Expectations
*Walking the course
--All golfers are expected to walk all 18 holes. Golf is a walking sport, and players should come prepared with comfortable shoes, water, and any other necessities.
*Arriving on time
--Please arrive early and be ready to tee off at your assigned time.Meadowbrook is a public golf course with scheduled tee times. If a golfer arrives late and misses their tee time, they will not be permitted to play that day's round.
--A missed round will be recorded as a Did Not Finish (DNF) and will receive a score of 152 for that day.
*Pace of Play
--To help maintain an appropriate pace of play, Northmont Golf uses maximum scores during tryouts.
Maximum scores are:
8 on all Par 3s
8 on all Par 4s
10 on all Par 5s
--If a golfer reaches the maximum score on a hole without finishing, they should pick up their ball and proceed to the next tee.
If needed we will make the par 5’s an 8 as well to keep the pace going.
*Score Keeping
--Golfers are expected to keep their scores honestly and accurately.
Integrity is one of the core values of golf. Any athlete found intentionally cheating or recording inaccurate scores will be removed from tryouts and will not be eligible to continue.
