The Northmont boys volleyball team delivered a strong performance Tuesday night, defeating Wayne in four sets (25-15, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22) to match the program’s highest win total since 2022. The Bolts also now have a season sweep of Wayne for the first time since 2022.
The Thunderbolts came out with energy and control, setting the tone early with a convincing first-set victory. Northmont continued to execute in the second set, holding off a late push from Wayne to take a 2-0 lead in the match. After dropping a tightly contested third set, the Bolts responded with composure, closing out the fourth set to secure the win.
With the victory, Northmont improves to 5-11 overall and 2-4 in conference play—marking the most conference wins the program has recorded since 2022.
The win reflects the steady growth of the team throughout the season. Under new leadership, the Bolts have continued to develop their skills, consistency, and confidence on the court. That progress has been especially evident in recent matches, as Northmont has begun to play at a higher level against tough competition in the GWOC.
As the season winds down, the Thunderbolts are building momentum and showing they can compete with anyone in the conference. With continued improvement and confidence, Northmont looks poised to finish the season strong.
