Congratulations to Graham Moyer and Maycie Geiger on being named the March BW3s Athletes of the Month.
Graham Moyer
Sophomore, Boys Wrestling
Graham Moyer Placed 5th at the OHSAA State Wrestling Championships in the 165 pound weight class! Graham ended his Sophomore year with an overall record of 45-11. Graham, a sophomore, joins the the Northmont Wrestling record books as the 22nd state placer in school history for Boys Wrestling. Graham was able to battle back at State after a tough loss in the semifinal to place 5th at Division 1 in the 165 pound bracket by defeating senior Tyler Rowles of North Royalton. Graham was leading 2-1 in the 3rd period where he scrambled after being lifted to earn a takedown and 4 near fall points, allowing him to win the match 9-1.
Maycie Geiger
Junior, Girls Bowling
Maycie is an incredible representative of Northmont and the Northmont Bowling program, consistently demonstrating excellence from the classroom to the bowling lanes. Maycie’s growth this season has been remarkable to watch, a direct result of her relentless hard work and attention to detail. During tryouts this year, she averaged a 44; however, her trajectory since then has been outstanding. She was our High Set at Districts with a 190 average and followed that up by shooting our team's high game at the State tournament with an impressive 230. Beyond the scores, Maycie embodies the core values we look for in our student-athletes. I don’t know anyone with a stronger sense of discipline, work ethic, or empathy. Her leadership mentality is second to none, and she consistently gives her absolute best while always looking for ways to improve. I truly believe Maycie is the perfect candidate for this recognition based on her performance, her character, and her dedication to Northmont athletics.
Congratulations, Graham and Maycie! Go Bolts! #ALLN
