The Bolts had a short turnaround after their tough loss to Wayne last Friday night. A one-day turnaround featured the Bolts facing rival Vandalia Butler for some non-conference basketball in the Thunderdome. It was a special night as Northmont honored several individuals and teams in a ceremony before the game.

Once the game started, Northmont faced some challenges as they continued to struggle making shots. Butler's zone defense forced the Bolts to settle for shots and the Aviators took advantage of their size to build an early 11-5 lead at the quarter break.

The Bolts found their footing on both ends of the floor in the 2nd quarter. Now able to get the ball to the rim, as well as some key shots by sophomore Josiah Williams off the bench, allowed Northmont to regain the lead and momentum to take a 23-18 edge into the locker room.

Butler came out of the 2nd half and again their zone defense created problems. The Aviators would win the quarter, but trail 30-29 at the break.

In the final quarter, the Bolts went back-and-forth with the lead until it sat at 38-38. After running some clock, junior Micah Jacobs made a 3PT FG from the corner to extend the lead 41-38. A Bolts' defensive stop and Kaleb Kelly free throw would be the final pieces as the Bolts would win 42-38 and move to 8-4 on the year.

JV fought back from a 7-point halftime deficit to win their game 46-34. Davis Salone led scoring with 12 points.

Freshman fell to Butler 52-36 in their matchup. Cam Copeland led scoring with 11 points.

All 3 teams return to action against Centerville this Tuesday, January 13th at Centerville High School.
