Northmont girls basketball took on Fairmont Saturday morning in a challenging matchup. The Lady Bolts came out with energy and focus, competing well in the opening quarter and keeping the game within reach at 20–14. Northmont showed resilience early, matching Fairmont’s pace and working to establish rhythm on both ends of the floor.
As the game progressed, Fairmont began to find their stride, using consistent offensive pressure and defensive stops to extend their lead heading into halftime, taking a 45–21 advantage. Despite the deficit, Northmont continued to battle, showing determination and effort throughout the second half. The Lady Bolts fought to create scoring opportunities and stayed engaged defensively, but Fairmont’s depth and execution proved difficult to slow down.
In the end, Fairmont was able to pull away, securing a 74–32 victory. While the final score didn’t reflect the early competitiveness, Northmont showed toughness and perseverance, continuing to compete until the final buzzer.
