The visiting Northmont Thunderbolts went strike for strike with the Fairmont Firebirds, ultimately falling by a narrow 2,561–2,503 margin after two team games and two Baker games.
Northmont opened the afternoon with a 1,002 team game, nearly stealing the early lead but trailing Fairmont 1,012–1,002 after the first set. Senior Colton Norris led the charge with a nice 224 game, while Dylan Sun was close behind at 222. James Whiteside added 197, Gavin Harlow rolled 182, and Zachary Boyle contributed 177 in a well-balanced team effort.
Northmont answered with an even stronger second set 1,041, highlighted by Dylan’s 223 and a 204 from Zachary. Colton stayed strong with 212, James added a 206, and Gavin finished with a 196. Despite the surge, Fairmont answered with a big 1,146 set, sending the Thunderbolts into Baker play trailing 2,158–2,043.
The Thunderbolts started bakers strong with a 243 game, outpacing Fairmont’s 231 and tightening the match. The momentum carried into the final Baker, where Northmont posted a nice 217. Fairmont, however, held steady with 172. When the final pin fell, the Firebirds escaped with the win.
