COLUMBUS, OH — The Northmont Boys Varsity Bowling team brought thunder to Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl on Saturday, November 15th, turning in a solid performance that earned them a 2nd place finish among a competitive field at the Teays Valley Viking Clash.
The format featured three team games and five Baker games, with total pinfall determining the final standings. The Thunderbolts were paired with Celina throughout the event, feeding off each other’s energy in a spirited day of competition.
Northmont came out of the gate strong, rolling an 895 in Game 1, led by junior Zach Boyle, who fired a commanding 234 to help position the Bolts in 4th place, just 153 pins behind the top spot.
In Game 2, the boys found their rhythm, improving to a 961 team total and climbing into 3rd place, now only 44 pins back of the leader. The momentum carried into Game 3, where the Thunderbolts shot a 963, giving them 2,819 pins after team play and moving them up to 2nd place, only 91 pins from the lead.
Then came the Baker games — where teamwork takes center stage. The Bolts stayed focused, rolling consistent games of 210, 157, 193, 170, and 183, for a 913 Baker total. When the final pin dropped, Northmont’s tournament total of 3,732 secured a well-earned 2nd place finish.
