The Varsity Girls’ Wrestling program is led by Head Coach Scott Pergram. Coach Pergram is going into his 8th year as a part of the Northmont Wrestling program, his 4th on the girls’ side of the program. Coach Pergram is assisted by Coach Ronnie Taner.
The previous season, the team finished 3rd at Sectionals and 13th at Districts. They also qualified and competed in the OHSWCA State duals and had two wrestlers place at the OHSAA State tournament. Ja’leia Mitchell placed in 6th and Katilyn Tanner placed 8th in their respective classes. The following wrestlers also qualified for Districts in the 2024-2025 season: Ja’leia Mitchell, Delani Brandonisio, Miracle Buford, Katilyn Tanner, Macey McCargish, Raelynn Jeffers, and Hayden Huelsman.
For the season ahead, the team lost none of their District qualifiers to graduation, and Coach Pergram has hopes of an even better season this year. The team recently participated in a 64-team preseason tournament and placed 5th overall. An exciting start to the 2025-2026 chapter of Girls’ Varsity Wrestling.
The program has also expanded to include a team at the Middle School level. Another exciting development for the program. Leading the Middle School will be Chloe Newburg, as Head Coach of the program.
Key returners for the Varsity team include Junior Katilyn Tanner and Sophomore Ja’leia Mitchell. The Bolts will compete in their first home contest on January 8th versus Eaton.
Go Bolts!
