On Wednesday, September 17 the Lady Bolts fell in straight sets to the Centerville Elks.

Despite the result, the players displayed passion and resilience in the face of a tough competitor. Every point, whether in favor or against, they constantly picked each other up and reset for the next battle.
In the first set, the team went toe-to-toe with the Elks throughout, delivering powerful kills, great defensive reactions, and solid serves that kept the score within a single point at 22-23. But unfortunately, the opposition were able to advance to the second set with the advantage (22-25).
In the second set, the team continued to have strong kills as well as quality touch on their tips, which continually kept Centerville on their toes. In the middle of the set, however, the gap began to get away from the Bolts, and despite a back and forth between the teams at the end, the girls went into the third set with a 0-2 deficit (14-25).
The third set started out very close but again the team started to lose ground in the middle of the set. Despite being 2 sets down, the team continued to fight for every point and worked on adjustments throughout. But Centerville continued to build on their momentum from the previous sets and were able to close out the match (15-25).
Senior Brianna Abels led the team with 19 assists and 2 aces. Senior Halie Hill had a team-leading 8 digs. Seniors Jadyn Johnson and Jenna Hall recorded 8 and 7 kills respectively. Jadyn Johnson and Junior Faye Osborne led with 6 blocks a piece.

The Lady Bolts will now reset and shift their focus to next week’s contest against Sidney.
