The Northmont girls tennis team traveled to Springboro on Monday night and came up short, falling 0-5 in GWOC play.
In her first match at first singles, Madison Evans battled but fell 0-6, 0-6. Sol Malanda, stepping into the second singles spot, dropped her match 0-6, 0-6. At third singles, Samantha Cecil fought through long points before ultimately losing 2-6, 0-6.
Northmont also tested a new doubles pairing as Leah Bergjord and Bayla Bucciarelli joined forces at first doubles, finishing with a 1-6, 1-6 scoreline. At second doubles, Eden Scott and Alysha Hopson played with effort but fell 1-6, 0-6.
With the result, the Thunderbolts move to 1-3 in GWOC play. They look to bounce back in their next conference match against Fairmont on Tuesday, September 9th.
