The Northmont girls tennis team earned their first team victory at home with a strong performance against Springfield.
At first singles, Leah Bergjord battled through a competitive match, ultimately falling 3-6, 3-6. Madison Evan fought back after dropping the first set to claim a thrilling super tiebreak win, 4-6, 6-3, 10-4. Samantha Cecil dominated her match, cruising to her first singles victory with a decisive 6-0, 6-0 result.
In doubles play, the Thunderbolts swept both courts. Bayla Bucciarelli and Sol Malanda controlled their match from start to finish, winning 6-3, 6-1, while Eden Scott and Alysha Hopson closed the evening with a solid 6-4, 6-3 win.
The team victory was exciting, but even more impressive was the grit, composure, and teamwork shown by each player on the court.
Northmont will look to build on the momentum going as they travel to face Stebbins on Wednesday, August 27th.
