The Lady Bolts start the season 3-0 for the second year in a row.
On August 16th, the Bolts opened the season with a tri-match against Oakwood, and Fairborn, playing a best two of three format. The Bolts started the season against Oakwood, and ended up winning a three set thriller against the Lumberjacks. The Bolts took the first set with a score of 25-21. Oakwood was able to come back from the first set loss and take the second set, 20-25. It came down to the third and final set between the Bolts and Lumberjacks but the Bolts controlled the flow of the match and won the final set 25-13 to begin the season 1-0.
Against Fairborn, the Lady Bolts were on fire and couldn't be stopped as they won the first set 25-14. The second set was no different as they took a commanding lead and ended up winning the match with a score of 25-11. This improved the Lady Bolts to 2-0 on the season.
On Monday, August 18 the Lady Bolts took on the Trojans from Troy. This match was a good test against a division two, district tournament opponent. The first set was a back and forth battle to start but the Bolts took a big run and won set one, 25-18. After set one, the rest of the match was in the Lady Bolts control and Troy couldn't stop the momentum of Northmont. Northmont won set two, 25-16 and set three, 25-13 to improve to 3-0 on the season.
The Lady Bolts are working hard this year to keep improving each practice, and game. This year the offense is more spread out and even with a lot of players taking charge. Senior, Jadyn Johnson is leading the way with 22 kills, 3 aces, and 8 blocks. Junior, Faye Osborne in her first full year on varsity is second on the team with 16 kills, and 8 blocks. Senior, Jenna Hall has 15 kills, 4 aces, 15 digs, and 3 blocks. Senior, Brianna Abels has taken a new offensive role along with setting. She currently has 14 kills, 41 assists, and 27 digs. Senior, Halie Hill is leading the team with 31 digs.
